Description

Duac Gel is a topical prescription treatment for acne vulgaris in adolescents and adults. It is typically recommended for mild to moderate forms of acne involving blackheads, whiteheads, and inflamed spots. Its dual-action formula provides an effective approach to treating acne at its root causes, including bacterial infection, clogged pores, and inflammation.

How It Works
Duac contains two active ingredients: clindamycin (an antibiotic) and benzoyl peroxide (a keratolytic agent with antibacterial properties). Clindamycin works by stopping the growth of Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria associated with acne. Benzoyl peroxide penetrates the skin and removes dead cells, unblocks pores, reduces sebum production, and helps prevent new breakouts. It also has its own antibacterial action, which reduces the likelihood of developing resistance to clindamycin.

Why Choose Duac Gel
Duac offers the convenience of a combined treatment in one application, simplifying acne care routines. It is clinically proven to reduce both inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne lesions. Users typically notice improvements within 2–5 weeks. The gel is lightweight, absorbs quickly, and can be used on the face, back, or chest. Its dual mechanism makes it particularly effective for patients who have not responded well to single-agent treatments.

Important Note
Duac Gel should only be used under medical supervision. It may bleach clothing, hair, or bedding, so care should be taken during and after application. It is not suitable for use on broken or sunburnt skin. Patients should avoid sunbeds and excessive sunlight exposure while using this medication. If no improvement is seen after 12 weeks or side effects occur, consult a healthcare provider.
